Pankaj Udhas, He is the Velvet Voiced Singer…Pankaj Udhas – A Socially Conscious Citizen Not many know of the fact that behind the velvet voice singer Pankaj Udhas lives a gentle, soft-spoken, light-hearted and a concerned citizen of India. The Ghazal Maestro has been associated with the social field for more than two decades now and is actively involved in doing charity and social work for the Cancer Patients Aid Association, Parents Thalassemia Unit. In 1989 Pankaj Udhas released the album ‘Nabeel’, which went on to become one of his best selling albums. The first copy of the album was placed at an auction where it was sold for as high as Rs. 1 Lakh. The money was donated to the Cancer Patients Aid Association. In his 20 years of social association, Pankaj Udhas has done numerous concerts to raise funds for social causes. He has collected lakhs of rupees and donated the same towards charitable causes.
